Sheryl Bird - Assistant Coach

Sheryl has been involved with Ringette since it started in Regina in the late 80’s. Her first couple of years she played with mixed ages. Soon after that, divisions were formed and she played for the Albert Park Cougars. She then jumped to the competitive leagues and played U16, U19 and Open AA for many years.

While still playing, Sheryl started coaching U14B with her older sister. This is where she got the coaching bug. She started reaching out to the more completive teams to help with practices and game strategies. In 1995 she made the big jump to the Canada Winter Games Team.

Over the course of her coaching career her resume includes: U10, U12 A and B, U14B, U19AA and A, Canada Winter Games in 1995, 1999, 2007 and the current 2023 team, NRL, National Team Scouting and International Ringette School Instructor (Finand). Her resume also includes being a Board member for Player Development for Ringette Canada and helping with many ringette schools.

Sheryl is very exciting for the opportunity to get back to coaching in the NRL with becoming an assistant coach for Saskatchewan Heat team.
